Eligibility check for laser vision correction surgery
The best way to find out if you are a good candidate for laser vision correction surgery is to have a fit test. During the exam, Dr. Orwa Nasser will review your medical record, ask you some questions, and perform a complete eye exam, which includes dilating your pupils and scanning your cornea. At the end of the exam, Dr. Nasser will explain more about the different laser procedures, answer all your questions, and talk to you about the laser options in your case and which procedure is best for you. The doctor will help you choose the right surgery for you, based on the type and severity of your vision problem, eye health, corneal thickness, your medical history, family medical history, habits, hobbies, and expectations.
Important things to know before arriving for the fit test:
- If you wear soft contact lenses, do not wear them for at least 5 days before the fit test. Instead, wear glasses.
- If you wear hard contact lenses, do not wear them for at least three weeks before the fit test. Instead, wear glasses.
- You must bring your current prescription for glasses and contact lenses with you to the exam.
